Question by marisa.curly: What does “brewed coffee” qualify as at Starbucks?
I participated in the Starbucks VIA instant coffee challenge today and in return received a coupon for a free, tall “brewed coffee”. Does this mean I can get a latte, or am I limited to drip coffee?

Best answer:

Answer by sonella80
according to the menu on their website brewed coffee is indeed their drip coffees only. However, you are able to get it with or without milk & served cold or hot.

Coffee Filter UV Filter

I took an unused Tiffen UV Filter, unscrewed the retaining ring, and slipped the coffee filter between the ring and the glass.

Overall it works remarkably well. Like the normal Expo Disc, you stand in place of your subject to be photographed, and point the camera TOWARD the source of light. (not toward the subject to be photographed) You then perform a manual white balance setting with your camera. After this, the camera will be properly calibrated for the light in the room…

And, if you have a spare filter, you save about .95. If you don’t have a spare filter, you can simply just hold the filter in front of the lens to take the WB shot.

It is old indeed! This is from my newly discovered ghost town and favorite place outside of Austin to go for a fun afternoon shoot! As much as I love coffee shops, I hate to see one fallen apart into such a state of disrepair… but it does make a good candidate for some HDR!

If possible, zoom into the Flickr one and see the original size if you like all the details in these sorts of places. The one here on the blog is 900 pixels across but the original is 6048 pixels across, so the blog cuts out about 6x of the detail! But, it’s better than the paltry Facebook or Flickr sizes which are so tiny that it’s kind of depressing… I think that is a major problem with those two services… the very small default size of the image usually does not do it justice. They should have two interfaces – a low and high bandwidth interface. That’s not too much to ask here in late 2009, is it?

Photoshop was not used to extract the background. This coffee mug and beans rested atop a full-spectrum light box (you know, the kind used for viewing film negatives), and flash was used to illuminate overhead.

Question by dooder: Where can i buy “espresso coffee” for our new cappuccino maker?
We love cappuccino and received a cappuccino maker for Christmas. The directions call for “espresso coffee.” Is this different than other coffees? We have not been able to find any “espresso coffee” in any store so far. All we can find is cappuccino but it is a mix that you put in hot water. Please help so we can start enjoying this gift. Thanks in advance.
